(G)I-DLE has released their first Full album, “I NEVER DIE (Title track: TOMBOY)” at 18:00 KST. Their 1st Full album, “I NEVER DIE,” is an album that contains (G)I-DLE’s feelings and thoughts on not only the prejudice against themselves but on all the prejudice in the world. (G)I-DLE’s comeback is good news for many global K-pop fans, including their fandom “NEVERLAND” who have been supporting them for a long time.
The title track “TOMBOY,” which fully reveals (G)I-DLE’s unique confident attitude, has straightforward lyrics such as, “I’m not a doll,” and “Just me I-DLE,” shows off bold charms and makes its listeners call to mind uncontrollable eccentric characters. In addition, the hook that is made up of (G)I-DLE’s unique voice and rough and grand instrumental sounds, along with the catchy variation section that begins at the point when the mood is at its climax, also points to focus on in this song.
Heightens anticipations of K-pop fans with their self-produced songs
B-side tracks written and composed by (G)I-DLE members confirm the unique color and musical spectrum of the group once again.
The Full album “I NEVER DIE” contains a total of 9 tracks: “TOMBOY,” “Never Stop Me,” “VILLAIN DIES,” “MY BAG,” “TOMBOY (CD Only),” which are co-composed and written by SOYEON, “ALREADY,” “ESCAPE,” which are co-composed by MINNIE, and “POLAROID,” and “LIAR” which are co-composed and co-written by YUQI. By fully letting out (G)I-DLE’s skills that they have been building up over the years and capturing the messages the group wanted to convey, the album is expected to show (G)I-DLE’s broadened range of musical capabilities. Such composition of the tracks is more than enough to enable its listeners to feel its authenticity.
3 new concepts
In line with how the group is well-known as “concept masters,” they have attempted extreme visual transformations for this album, yet again. The three visual concepts which consist of a noir-style “RiSKY” version, a “CHiLL” version that is a relaxed and cool revenge squad concept, and a “SPOiLED” version that expresses the protagonist who is arbitrary but is hard to hate, have captured (G)I-DLE’s matured facial expressions and visuals and have foreshadowed the various emotions that are to be shown in this album.
In particular, the fourth mini-album, “FIRE,” which was released last year, topped the iTunes album charts in 52 regions around the world and ranked 173rd on the Billboard Global Excl. US, breaking (G)I-DLE’s own record and giving them an unrivaled presence.
(G)I-DLE, a group that has been unstoppable in the K-pop market with their outstanding conceptual performances and music, has confidently finished their preparation for this comeback.
